Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup brown or white sugar
  • ⅔ cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. cloves
  • 2¼ tsp. soda
  • ⅔ cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 4-5 cups flour
Instructions
  1. Heat sugar, syrup, and spices to boiling point. Add soda and pour over butter. Stir until butter melts. Add egg and flour and blend. Knead and then chill (at least 2 hours or preferably overnight). Roll out and cut on cookie sheet. Bake in 325⁰ oven for 8-10 minutes.
