Recipe type: Soup
- 2 cups beans, either pintos, pinks, or small reds
- 1 lb. ground beef
- Onion, chopped
- Chili powder
- Garlic powder
- Canned tomatoes
- Soak chili beans.
- Cook the beans for 1½ to 2 hours.
- Brown hamburger and drain fat.
- Add chopped onions, salt pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, oregano and canned tomatoes.
- Cook until the beans are done.
- Drain the beans, leaving some of the liquid, if desired for flavor.
- Mix in meat sauce and simmer to blend flavors.
