Cream Cheese Cookies
Recipe type: Dessert
Serves: 48 small cookies
  • 1⅓ cups butter or margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 2 cups cake flour (or whatever)
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans (or walnuts)
  1. Cream together butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. (Have both at room temperature.) Gradually add sugar and beat hear. Stir in vanilla, lemon juice, and peel. Add flour, mixing well. Stir in nuts. Push small amount from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 300⁰ for 20-25 minutes or until delicately browned. While hot, roll in powdered sugar.
