Serves: 48 cookies.
Ingredients
  • 2¼ cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup shortening or cooking oil
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. cloves
  • ¼ cup sugar
Instructions
  1. Mix half the flour with the brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Add the remaining flour. Roll into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375⁰ for 8-10 minutes.
