Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Recipe

I found these on the Internet. The “Real” recipe supposedly came from NM, probably to counter the “counterfeit” recipe. Anyway, here’s the comparison, do as you wish. I’m going to leave out the coffee. I think the fake recipe sounds better than the “real” one.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1¾ cup flour
  • 1½ tsp. instant coffee
  • 8 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Cream the butter with the sugars until fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract
  3. Combine the cry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips
  5. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375⁰ for 8-10 minutes, or 10-12 minutes for a crispier cookie.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2½ cup blended oatmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 cup flour
  • 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz. grated Hershey bar
  • 1½ cup chopped nuts (your choice)
Instructions
  1. Measure oatmeal and blend in blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet Bake for 10 minutes at 375⁰.
