“No Knead” Bread Rolls

"No Knead" Bread Rolls

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • 3½ cups flour
  • 1¼ tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
  1. Place shortening, salt, and sugar in bowl.
  2. Add boiling water and stir.
  3. When lukewarm, add yeast and ½ of the flour.
  4. Add egg and beat well.
  5. Then add remaining flour and mix well.
  6. Grease top of dough and cover lightly.
  7. Refrigerate 2-24 hours.
  8. Pinch off rolls and put into muffin pans.
  9. Keep fingers well greased while working with dough.
  10. Let rise for 2 hours.
  11. Bake at 425⁰ for 20 minutes.
  12. Makes 2 dozen rolls.
  13. Can be made in different shapes.
