Brazilian Beans and Rice

Ingredients
- Beans of choice (red, black, pinto, whatever)
- Garlic
- Onion
- Salt
- Sausage or Ham
Pico de gallo:
- Green pepper
- Onion
- Tomato
- Lemon juice
Instructions
- Cook any beans you like, red, black, pinto, etc. in plenty of water with garlic, onion, salt and any sausage/ham that you have.
- While the beans cook chop onion, tomato and green bell pepper and combine.
- When the beans are done, serve over a mountain of rice, and top with the relish and squeeze lemon juice over the whole thing.
Notes
Gloria said that in a pinch, she would just open up a can of beans, heat them up, and then sprinkle with lemon juice. The rice and relish are nice, but it's the beans and the lemon that are the necessities.
